Dubai: The New York Post has reported that Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is gay. According to the report, President Donald Trump was stunned by the findings of American intelligence agencies, which were disclosed during a highly classified briefing last week.
Reports indicate that Trump could not contain his amusement upon hearing the details and burst into laughter. Other officials present in the room reportedly reacted similarly.
The New York Post published the story citing two intelligence officials and a source close to the White House. They emphasized that this is not mere propaganda, as American intelligence agencies consider the information credible and obtained from reliable sources.
US intelligence suggests that Mojtaba maintained a long-term relationship with a man who had been his teacher during his childhood. The report states that this relationship spanned years and that the individual was an employee of the Khamenei family.
Furthermore, the report alleges that while receiving treatment for injuries sustained in a missile attack on February 28, Mojtaba behaved inappropriately toward the male staff caring for him. While no photographic evidence exists, officials maintain that the information is trustworthy.
The report also references a 2008 US diplomatic cable released by WikiLeaks, which claimed Mojtaba traveled to London for treatment related to sexual dysfunction. The records indicate he did not marry until after age 30 and sought fertility treatments at London’s Wellington and Cromwell hospitals.
Homosexuality is a capital offense in Iran, punishable by death. Consequently, these allegations are exceptionally grave within Iran’s theocratic political framework.
The report also notes that Mojtaba’s wife, Zahra, and their teenage son, Mohammad Baqir, were killed in the February attack. He is survived by another son and a daughter.
Mojtaba Khamenei Narrowly Escapes Missile Strike
In a related development, The Telegraph reported that Mojtaba Khamenei escaped a joint US-Israeli missile strike by mere seconds. The attack occurred moments after he stepped outside his compound.
Citing leaked audio of a meeting between Iranian officials, the report states that the strike killed the former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with several senior officials and relatives.
The report clarifies that Mojtaba survived because he entered the garden just before the missiles struck. Mazahar Hosseini, head of the protocol department in the Supreme Leader’s office, reportedly revealed these details during a private briefing.
"By divine providence, Mojtaba had to step into the courtyard for a specific purpose. As he was returning to the upper floor, the missiles hit the building," Hosseini was quoted as saying.
According to the leaked recording, at least three missiles were utilized. One struck the area housing Ali Khamenei, while another hit Mojtaba’s residence. Hosseini stated that Mojtaba sustained only minor leg injuries.
The recordings underscore the severity of the strike. Iran’s military chief, Mohammad Shirazi, was killed; Hosseini noted that his body was so badly disfigured that he could only be identified by DNA or specific remains. Another missile hit the residence of Mojtaba’s brother-in-law, Misbah al-Huda Bagheri Kani, reportedly killing him instantly.
The fact that the new Supreme Leader has not made a public appearance since the conflict began has sparked intense speculation. To date, Iran’s state television has only broadcasted a statement from him vowing to avenge the "martyrs."
