Street blockade during protests in Tehran on January 9

Dubai: Indications suggest that internal conflicts have intensified within the Iranian clerical regime. The US-based 'Institute of War' reported this, citing that more officials are leaking confidential information regarding the atrocities committed by the Islamic regime against protesters.

Two Iranian officials revealed that the regime had instructed security forces to suppress protests, shoot on sight, and show no mercy. Senior officials now suggest that approximately 30,000 people may have been killed on January 8 and 9. However, the official figure provided by Iran to the United Nations is only 3,117.

Human rights organizations allege that the regime is forcing families to identify their murdered loved ones as members of the 'Basij' force under the IRGC. Moves are also underway to execute a soldier named Javid Khales, who refused to fire on protesters. The US State Department condemned this action. The refusal of soldiers to fire on protesters is significant, indicating resentment within the military over the approach toward the public. The international support received by soldiers like Javid Khales is putting significant pressure on the regime.

Fearing further protests, Iran has not restored internet services. While one section of the leadership argues that the internet shutdown will lead to economic collapse, another section demands its continuation for security reasons.

Reports indicate that Alireza Jeyrani Hokmabad, a senior Iranian diplomat at the UN in Geneva, has abandoned his post and sought asylum in Switzerland. There are signs that more officials are attempting to seek asylum in Western countries, proving that even its own officials are losing faith in the regime. This may lead to more 'defections' in the coming days.

While the Iranian regime officially propagates that these protests are organized by terrorists with foreign aid, the leak of information by its own officials undermines the credibility of this claim. The revelation that instructions were received from the top to "show no mercy" points toward a deliberate crackdown by the regime.

Houthis and Iraqi Groups Prepare for Retaliation

Tensions are escalating in the region as US President Donald Trump threatened military action against the Iranian crackdown on nationwide protests. Supporting Iran, Houthi rebels in Yemen have issued new threats against ships traveling through the Red Sea.

The Houthis released a video with the caption "Soon," indicating attacks on ships in the Red Sea. They had previously attacked over a hundred ships during the Israel-Hamas war.

The US aircraft carrier 'USS Abraham Lincoln' and guided-missile destroyers are moving toward Iran. Trump stated that these are ready to take action against Iran if necessary. He warned that Iran would be attacked if the killing of peaceful protesters continues or if those arrested are subjected to mass executions.

The 'Kataeb Hezbollah' group in Iraq called on its allies to provide a defense for Iran. The group's leader, Abu Hussein al-Hamidawi, warned that a war against Iran would give enemies a "bitter taste of death." He urged preparation for suicide attacks and jihad.

Iran's Defense Ministry stated that any move from Israel or the US would be met with a fierce response. They threatened America by displaying posters in the streets of Iran showing bodies strewn across an aircraft carrier. Due to concerns over airspace, Iran has banned private aircraft from flying, and most Western airlines are now avoiding Iranian airspace.
