GENEVA: The list of Russian athletes granted neutral status by World Aquatics has been extended to 50 people, the organization's press service reports.
The updated list includes 19 more athletes, along with Olympic bronze medalist, diver Alexander Bondar.
Russian athletes are allowed to compete in World Aquatics events only under a neutral status and are prohibited from affiliating themselves with their country. At the December World Short Course Swimming Championships in Budapest, they won six gold and four silver medals, finishing second in the unofficial medal standings. For them, this World Championships marked their first competition after a three-year break due to sanctions.
