NEW DELHI: The West cannot force India to act against its will, including to undermine the relationship between New Delhi and Moscow, the Russian ambassador to the South Asian republic, Denis Alipov, told TASS in an interview.
"India feels increasingly confident as a future global power, a new economic powerhouse as it rightfully considers itself a leading center of the evolving multipolar world order," Alipov said.
According to the Russian diplomat, a major rethinking of the ideology of state building is taking place in India in favor of increasing the national self-awareness, "based on its own civilizational attitudes and traditional values, as well as the richest cultural heritage."
"Against this backdrop, forcing India to do something against its will is a futile task," Alipov said. "The West is gradually embracing this idea even as it has been attempting to put pressure with a view to undermining the Russian-Indian relations," he added.
