WASHINGTON: The US Air Force conducted a successful test of the AGM-183 air-to-ground hypersonic missile, the military said.
According to the document, the launch was carried out on March 17 from a B-52 strategic bomber that took off from the US Andersen Air Force Base on Guam in the Pacific Ocean. The document said that the test allowed it to gather "valuable insights into the capabilities" of the missile. The US Air Force pointed out that it would not release details of the test launch, noting that it was intended "to further a range of hypersonic programs.".
The March 17 launch was the fifth test of the AGM-183 prototype missile.
