MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Kiev’s escalation in Black Sea and Ukrainian settlement
Putin and Erdogan noted "the importance of coordinated measures for the purpose of ensuring comprehensive security in the Black Sea waters" amid Ukraine’s ongoing attempts to damage the Blue Stream and TurkStream pipeline infrastructure.
The Russian leader also thanked his Turkish counterpart "for his unwavering readiness to facilitate" negotiations on Ukraine.
Middle East
Putin and Erdogan discussed the ongoing escalation in the Middle East.
The presidents noted that the escalation surrounding Iran is leading to "serious negative consequences on both a regional and global scale, including in the fields of energy, trade, and logistics."
During the phone call, the sides also agreed on the need for an immediate ceasefire and for compromise peace agreements that consider the legitimate interests of all regional states.
Russia-Turkey cooperation
Putin and Erdogan discussed further steps "to strengthen Russian-Turkish political and trade-economic ties," particularly joint projects in the energy sector.
