VLADIVOSTOK: Bilateral trade between Russia and Malaysia grew by 13% in 2025 to over $3.6 bln, Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov said.
"Bilateral trade turnover increased by 13% in 2025 to over $3.6 bln. That said, figures from the first few months of this year indicate a need to step up joint efforts, which is why it is important not only to restore the momentum previously achieved but also to ensure sustainable growth in mutual trade," he said at the meeting of the joint Russian-Malaysian commission.
Interest among businesses in both countries in expanding trade ties is growing, Falkov added.
The fifth meeting of the joint Russian-Malaysian commission on economic, scientific-technical, and cultural cooperation co-chaired by Valery Falkov and Zambry Abdul Kadir, Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia, is taking place on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University on August 13.
Particular attention is being paid to trade and investment cooperation, agriculture, energy, tourism, and cultural exchanges, as well as the development of ties in areas of science and education.
