MOSCOW: The Impulse universal ground robotic systems can be controlled via both radio and fiber optics and perform tasks entirely autonomously, Russia’s Rostec State Corporation told TASS.
To date, the Impulse robotic platform has undergone comprehensive combat testing. The Impulse platform is used by the military in combat and transport missions.
"The robotic system can be controlled via either radio or fiber optic communications. The control range can be increased using a repeater mounted on any type of UAV in which case the ground drone can operate tens of kilometers from the control center. The Impulse robots can also perform tasks fully autonomously: in this case, they follow points marked on an electronic map, monitoring their position using specialized software. This mode is activated when radio contact with the operator is lost, for example, when a ground drone has crossed a fold in the terrain and is no longer visible," Rostec said.
