TOKYO: A magnitude-6.7 earthquake was registered off Japan’s northeastern Aomori prefecture, the national meteorological service said.

The epicenter was located at the depth of 20 km.

The service warned about the possibility of a tsunami wave up to one meter high.

On November 8, the same are was hit by a magnitude-7.5 earthquake, followed by a 70-cm tsunami.
