GENEVA: The Swiss authorities have added eight Russian media outlets to their sanctions list, a document published on the website of the country’s State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) reads.
Among others, the sanctions list includes the Lenta.ru internet news site, the Zvezda TV channel and the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper, as well as the News Front news agency, the SouthFront website, the RuBaltic.ru and the Strategic Culture Foundation. It specified that the restrictions will take effect on April 23.
On February 24, the European Union introduced the 16th package of individual and economic sanctions against Russia. Within the framework of this package, Brussels suspended the broadcasting licenses of a number of Russian media outlets, including Eurasia Daily, News Front, SouthFront, RuBaltic.ru, Lenta,ru, Zvezda and the Strategic Culture Foundation.
