MOSCOW: The present year can be among top most warmest in the history, Research Director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand told TASS in an interview.
"The probability exists that the year of 2025 will be among the top warmest ones. This is because recent years are becoming increasing warmer under influence of growing concentration of greenhouse gases. Regrettably, this process has not yet been managed to be stabilized. Furthermore, the ocean atmosphere remains very high; its active layer [contacting the atmosphere] has warmed up good. This also affects the condition of the atmosphere: heat transferred from oceans facilitates air temperature growth," the expert said.
It will be possible to exactly indicate the place to be taken by the year of 2025 among the warmest ones in the second half of the year, Vilfand added.
