MOSCOW: A US Air Force MQ9 Reaper drone made an emergency landing in Poland after losing contact with its ground control station, the Polish General Command of the Armed Forces reported on Tuesday.
"On March 18 after 11:00 p.m. local time [after 0:00 GMT, March 19] the unmanned aerial vehicle, which was performing a flight in the airspace over Poland, carried out an emergency landing near the town of Miroslawiec," the command said in a statement posted on social network X (formerly Twitter). "The landing took place in line with all procedures in the protected uninhabited area."
The scene of the incident has been cordoned off by special services and an investigation is underway, according to the statement.
