ST. PETERSBURG: Russia is determined to work together with all those who share its values of peace and mutual respect and who are ready to participate in the formation of a modern multipolar world, Russian President Vladimir Putin told the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum - Forum of United Cultures.
"Russia is set to work most closely together with all those who share our values of peace, friendship and mutual respect. With those who are ready to take part in the formation of a modern multi-polar world based on civilizational and cultural diversity. Preserving the identity of peoples and equal rights and opportunities for all states is the guarantee of successful development of humanity," Putin said.
He emphasized that the Forum of United Cultures and the discussions that take place there were to help achieve these goals and attract more well-established celebrities and young artists, educators, scientists, entrepreneurs and patrons of the arts.
"The Forum is capable of becoming a permanent platform for making important decisions in the humanitarian sphere. Russia is certainly ready to support such work," Putin said.
He thanked the speakers and foreign delegations for their participation in the forum.
The 9th St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum - Forum of United Cultures - is being held on November 16 to 18 after a three-year break. The event, which organized by the Russian government, the Ministry of Culture and the authorities of St. Petersburg, is recognized as a world-class event. It annually brings together thousands of cultural experts from all over the world: theater, opera and ballet celebrities, stage directors and musicians, public figures, officials and representatives of businesses and the academic community.
