Chennai: The state government has decided to open schools in Tamil Nadu from September 1. It also allowed theaters to open at 50 percent capacity from Monday.
Permission has been granted to resume classes from 9th to 12th according to the Covid protocol. Schools can also provide meals to students under the meal scheme. The decision to resume classes one to eight will be made after September 15.
Colleges and polytechnics can be opened on rotation basis from September 1 as per the government guidelines. Institutions have been asked to ensure that teachers and staff have taken the Covid vaccine.
Bars, hotels and clubs are allowed to open if employees had been vaccinated. The public is allowed to go to the beaches as well. Authorities must ensure that shopkeepers and sellers are vaccinated.
The Covid regulations will continue to grade areas accordingly. The government has also allowed the opening of botanical and zoological parks under the Covid SOP.
According to the new guidelines announced by Chief Minister MK Stalin, the state has extended the restrictions till September 9 and relaxed many of the restrictions.
