Dubai: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran will utilize all military means at its disposal to protect its sovereignty. He further clarified that the country will exercise its right to self-defense under international law.
Araghchi held telephone conversations with his counterparts in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Iraq. During these calls, he reminded these nations not to allow their territories or facilities to be used by Israel or the United States to launch attacks against Iran.
Reports indicate that the Office of Iran’s Supreme Leader and the Presidential Office have been hit. A bombing was also reported in the Narmak area of Tehran, where former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad resides; it is currently unclear whether he was injured.
Footage has emerged showing the bombing of an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) base in Kamyaran, located in the Kurdish region. Prior to the strikes, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had issued warnings to Iranian civilians to evacuate areas near military installations.
The Iranian Interior Ministry announced that hospitals across the country are on high alert and that security forces are prepared to maintain law and order.
Strategic Objectives of Araghchi’s Diplomatic Talks
Denial of Airspace: A stern warning to neighboring countries not to permit Israeli aircraft to use their airspace for operations against Iran.
Regional Alliance: Iran is attempting to secure the neutrality of Gulf nations and limit American intervention in the region.
Current Situation in Iran
Medical Preparedness: Hospitals nationwide have been placed on "standby" to treat casualties.
Security Measures: The Ministry of Interior has tightened security in major cities and around military bases.
Communication Control: Although footage from the affected areas is circulating on social media, the Iranian government is strictly regulating official information.
