DUBAI: The United States has delivered a series of airstrikes on the Houthi-controlled Hodeida governorate in Yemen, the Houthi-controlled Al Masirah television channel reported.
The attack targeted a metallurgical works in the Al-Salif neighborhood. The Al Hadath television channel said, citing its sources, that the plant was used by the Houthi in military purposes. At least 15 strikes were delivered on the area.
Apart from that, US forces hit the Al Arj neighborhood on the Red Sea coast not far from the governorate’s administrative center. According to Al Hadath TV, the US strike targeted Houthi deployment centers.
On March 15, the US started to carry out massive strikes on Houthi facilities in Yemen based on an order from President Donald Trump. The US Central Command said that the goal was to defend American interests and restore freedom of navigation. In response, the Ansar Allah movement twice attacked the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman in the northern part of the Red Sea, using missiles and drones. According to the latest data from the Houthi health ministry, the US strikes on Yemen have killed 53 people and left more than 100 wounded.
