BANGKOK: The death toll of a powerful earthquake in Myanmar has risen to 694, and another 1,670 people were wounded, the MRTV state TV channel reported.

Moreover, 68 people are regarded as gone missing by now. The authorities continue making the list.

Strong earthquake shocks registered on March 28 damaged residential houses, administrative buildings, and hospitals almost all across the country.

According to various estimates, the magnitude of the first quake ranged from 7.7 to 7.9. It was followed by another earthquake shock with the magnitude of 6.4. Thailand was also hit by the quake. Tremors were felt in China and Vietnam. A building fell in Bangkok, killing eight, with over 110 people missing.
