Dubai: Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets in a match eagerly awaited by the cricketing world. Pakistan won with 13 balls to spare.
In their first match of the Super 12 group of the Twenty20 World Cup, India, one of the favorites in the tournament, lost.
The Pakistani players excelled in batting, bowling and fielding. India, on the other hand, was below average in all three areas.
Openers Mohammad Rizwan (79) and skipper Babur Assam (68) lead Pakistan to victory without any lose.
Rizwan hit 79 off 55 balls with six boundaries and three sixes. Babur Assam scored 68 off 52 balls with six boundaries and two sixes.
Indian opener Rohit Sharma became golden duck. He lost his wicket after getting LB to Shaheen Afridi's ball.
Later, KL Rahul scored three off eight balls was bowled by Shaheen Afridi. Suryakumar Yadav, who gave hope in the opening balls, struck out 11 off eight balls.
Later, captain Virat Kohli (57) and Rishabh Pant (39) slowly moved the score board. Kohli scored 53 off 40 balls.
Shaheen, who came in the second spell, again shocked India by dismissing captain Virat Kohli.
Hardik Pandya (11) and Ravindra Jadeja (11) could not do much in the final overs. Pakistan's excellent fielding also hampered India's scoring.
