There after the Rajya Sabha member Suresh Gopi visited the striking entrepreneurs and explained the steps he had tried in 2016 in order to get out the industry from collapse and revive it by implementing the concept of a Cashew Board from the Centre Government.
He said to achieve that he met the Prime Minister as well as few ministers. He also, promised us that he will try his level best to save and revive the industry.
The following are the urgent demands of the Joint Protest Council:
* Stop all recovery proceedings initiated by the banks against the cashew entrepreneurs with immediate effect.
* Stop all recovery measures initiated by the Centre Government as well as State Government departments against the Cashew entrepreneurs with immediate effect.
* Based on the decisions taken by the hon’ble Chief Minister, RBI , SLBC and all the banks involved, the entrepreneurs, whose Accounts fell into the category of NPA, submitted revival plans to their respective banks prior to March 31, 2018; but, so far the banks have not agreed to that. We appeal to the hon’ble Chief Minister to persuade the banks to implement the same.
* Revive this most important 100 years old traditional industry at any cost and provide support and equip the industrialists to maintain the same in Kerala.
