NEW DELHI: The central government has granted permission for the small and retail establishments to be opened with condition in India.
The Government of India today decided to allow small shops to open in non-hotspot areas. The order issued by the Union Home Ministry yesterday, midnight, does not allow multi-brand and single-brand malls to function.
Those shops registered under the Shop and Establishment Act, outside the corporation and municipal limits, are to be opened. The visitors to the stores must wear masks and gloves and maintain social distance.
At the same time, there are signs that the lock-down may not be fully withdrawn by May 3, and that it may allow for conditional operation in non-hot spot areas.
