Kochi: Three policemen were arrested in connection with the custodial death of Sreejith in Varapuzha, Kerala.
The police officers took custody of Sreejith from his house in Varapuzha. Meanwhile, Sreejith's family demanded that the CI and the top police officers should be arrested.
The arrested named Santhosh, Jithinraj and Sumesh are police officers in the rural tiger force which is under the command of Rural SP.
State Police chief Laknath Behura had granted permission to arrest the policemen after prima facie evidence. The arrest was made after three police officers were questioned in Aluva Police Club.
Sreejith's relatives and neighbors lodged a complaint against the police officials. Furthermore, the relatives alleged that the police officers had beaten Srijith brutally.
